Volunteer at Beyond the Gates 2022
Dear all,
Beyond the Gates 2022 is fast approaching. We are eager to get started with what will be the biggest undertaking in the history of the festival.
From the 2nd through to the 6th of August, we will greet thousands of metal fans from over 50 nationalities for our 10th edition of Beyond the Gates! You can expect 5 full festival days, multiple venues, with a wide array of events and concerts that will be taking place in and around Bergen. Daytrips, tattoos, metal merch, DJs and more!

Ticket FAQ
REFUND / POSTPONEMENTS
Q: I bought my tickets in 2019. Are they still valid and do I have to do anything?
A: All tickets bought for the Beyond the Gates 2020 and 2021 festivals are valid for 2022. You don’t have to do anything.
If you have a Ticketmaster Norway account app. You can download your tickets over again, and in most cases the tickets will be updated with the correct 2022 dates. This is not a must.
Q: I have a 4 Day Festival Pass. What days are the pass valid for.
A: The 4 Day Festival Passes are valid for Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th of August.
Q: I bought tickets in 2020 and now I can’t come to the festival. Do I get a refund.
A: No, the refund period is over. As long as the festival takes place we can not issue a refund for tickets bought for the event.
In the unlikely event the festival should be cancelled or postponed, we will offer you to refund your tickets or roll them over to the new dates.
Q: Can I sell my tickets even if it has my name on it?
A: Yes, can sell the ticket to a third part if you can’t use it your self. People are often searching the events for tickets. There are also services like TicketSwap that might be of use.
Q: I bought a Collectors Ticket but I haven’t received it yet. When will they arrive?
A: Ticketmaster will NOT send out the Collector Tickets, but instead organize a pick up point at the festival site. This is due to delays in the postal system and we want to avoid that your tickets will be stuck in the mail. Detailed info about this has been sent out to the e-mail address you used for the purchase. If you can’t attend the festival and wish to sell your Collector Ticket, you can either change the name on the ticket or ask for an Electronic ticket (PDF).
LINE-UP CHANGES
Q: I bought a ticket to see Opeth on Saturday the 22nd of August 2020, are my day ticket still valid for this concert?
A: When the 2020 festival was postponed to 2021, several line-up changes were done, including moving Opeth to the Wednesday. All day ticket holders were asked to notify Ticketmaster if you wanted to change your day ticket for another day. If you didn’t change your Saturday ticket into a Wednesday ticket back then, your ticket would lock onto the Emperor/Mayhem/Enslaved show that was scheduled for the Saturday event in 2021.
Q: I bought a ticket to see Mercyful Fate in Grieghallen on Friday the 5th of August. Now Emperor/Mayhem/Enslaved and Mercyful Fate has swapped days. Are my ticket still valid for Mercyful Fate.
A: Yes. If you bought a Friday ticket to see Mercyful Fate before 24th of August 2021 (before the change was made) , your ticket are now valid for the Mercyful Fate show on Saturday. In this case, you didn’t have to do anything as it was basically just a day swap. The same thing applies for Emperor/Mayhem/Enslaved: If you bought a Saturday ticket to see this package before 24th of August 2021 (when the change was made), your Saturday ticket is now valid for the Friday event.
KULTURHUSET CLUB / THE NIGHT SHIFT
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Venue change: All shows at Kvarteret are moved to KULTURHUSET
Q: I have a 5 or 4 Day festival pass. Does this include «Kvarteret Club»?
A: Yes, you have access to the «Kvarteret Club» concerts on a first come, first served basis. The Kvarteret venue has a limited capacity - when it’s packed, it’s packed.
Q: I have a Day ticket to USF Verftet. Does this include «Kvarteret Club»?
A: No, the Day tickets are only valid for the venue specified. Day Ticket USF Verftet and Day Ticket Grieghallen are only valid for the main stage listed on the ticket.
If you don’t have a 5 or 4 Day festival pass, you can buy a separate ticket for «Kvarteret Club».
Q: I have ticket for «Kvarteret Club», does this guarantee my entry to the concerts.
A: Yes, the designated tickets for «Kvarteret Club» guarantees entry to the concerts.
Q: I have a 5 or 4 Day festival pass. Does this give me entry to the «The Night Shift» concerts?
A: No. «The Night Shift» is a separate event all-together. To get access to these concerts you will either need a «The Night Shift» festival pass or a «The Night Shift» day ticket to the day you want to attend.
Q: I have a «The Night Shift» 3 Day pass. Now there’s a fourth day added. Do I need to buy a Tuesday ticket to see Me and that Man?
A: No, your 3 Day pass was automatically upgraded to a 4 day pass.
Q: Why aren’t «The Night Shift» included in the festival pass.
A: This is a bonus event that was booked after the initial festival was completed and on sale. It has a separate production and setup.
VIP UPGRADES
Q: I have an Early Bird ticket from 2020. Does the VIP and Balcony upgrade still apply?
A: Yes they do. You can access the balcony and the adjacent Bar at USF Verftet if you have the VIP upgrade.
Q: I won a VIP upgrade in 2019 (and 2020) competition. Are they still valid?
A: Yes they are. You will get your VIP wrist band at the accreditation desk at the venue. Your name will be on the list.
